Canadian Engineering Memorial Foundation presents awards and scholarships to 15 women studying engineering


At the Engineers Canada Board meeting in Ottawa, ON, on September 26, 2017, the Canadian Engineering Memorial Foundation presented its annual awards and scholarships to 15 young women pursuing degrees in engineering.

CEMF offers scholarships in engineering to young women who demonstrate exceptional leadership and who are volunteers in their communities. These scholarship winners become Ambassadors for the profession and mentors to those who follow.

This year’s recipients were:

  • Amanda MacLean – CEMF Ambassador Award winner, Atlantic
  • Jessica Hohner – CEMF Ambassador Award winner, BC
  • Mariko Shimoda – CEMF Ambassador Award winner, Ontario
  • Laura Fader – CEMF Ambassador Award winner, Prairies
  • Aimée-Line Emond – CEMF Ambassador Award winner, Quebec
  • Olga Misic – Rona Hatt Ambassador Award winner
  • Amanda Anderson – Marie Carter Memorial Undergraduate Award winner
  • Zaineb Al-Faesly – Vale Undergraduate Award winner

  • Jory Wong – Zayo Group Information Undergraduate Award winner
  • Vanessa Raponi – Dillon Consulting Undergraduate Award winner
  • Elena Uchiteleva – Claudette MacKay-Lassonde Graduate Award
