Each participant declares that he or she has read and accepted all the terms and conditions of the Official Contest Rules.

  1. Eligibility: Engineers Canada Newsletter Reader Survey Contest (the “Contest”) is open to anyone who fully completes the 2023 Engineers Canada Newsletter Reader Survey (“Entrant”) before 4:30 p.m. E.T. on May 31, 2023.
  2. Prize: One (1) of Three Amazon gift cards valued at CAD $50 each.
  3. How to Enter: No purchase necessary. Upon completing the Survey (the “Entry”), an Entrant will be entered into the Contest to win one of three Prize. The Entry requires that an Entrant provide a valid email address. The personal information that Entrants supply will be used by Engineers Canada to administer the Contest, including to notify the Winner, and for no other reason.
  4. Contest Period: Entrants may submit their Entries commencing at 4:30 p.m. E.T. on April 27, 2023. The Contest closes at 4:30 p.m. E.T. on May 31, 2023.
  5. Odds of Winning: The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible Entries received during the Contest Period.
  6. Contest and Winner Selection Process: The winning Entrant (the “Winner”) will be selected in a random draw which will take place at the Engineers Canada office on June 1, 2023, after 8:00 a.m. E.T. If the Winner does not claim the Prize by responding to the notification email within 48 hours of its distribution or if the notification email is continually bounced back to Engineers Canada, or otherwise, if the Winners are found to have not complied with all applicable rules, the Entrant will be disqualified and the Prize will be awarded to an alternate Entrant, who will be selected in a random draw from among the remaining Entries. Any alternate Winner will have the same rights and obligations as the original Winner.

To receive the Prize, the Winner will be required to answer a skill-testing question. The Winner will receive the Prize by email no later than ten (10) days after having correctly answered the skill-testing question.

  1. Engineers Canada is not responsible for incomplete, lost, or late Entries or faulty transmissions, technical computer hardware or software failures of any kind, which may limit or affect in any way an Entrant’s ability to participate in the Contest.
  2. Decisions of Engineers Canada are final on all matters of fact, interpretation, eligibility, procedure and fulfillment in respect of the Contest. Engineers Canada reserves the right at any time to withdraw the Contest or to modify, amend, or supplement these rules, in its sole discretion, subject to applicable law.
  3. No substitution for the Prize is permitted. Failure to comply with the Official Rules will result in disqualification, and an alternate Winner may be selected in accordance with the Official Rules.
  4. Release and Indemnification. By participating in the Contest, Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Contest Rules. All winners must sign Engineers Canada’s Winner Release to: (i) confirm eligibility for the Contest and compliance with all Official Contest Rules; (ii) agree to accept prizes as awarded; (iii) release, discharge and hold harmless Engineers Canada, its directors, officers, employees, shareholders, successors, sponsors, partners, licensees, subsidiaries, agents, artists, advisors, assignees, and all others associated with the administration, development, and execution of the Contest (“Released Parties”) from any and all manner of action, cause of action, claim or demand, loss or injury, or any suit, debt, covenant, contract, including legal fees and expenses, whatsoever, including but not limited to, claims based on negligence, breach of contract and fundamental breach, failure of any third-party contractor or supplier used in connection with any aspect of the Contest to perform or deliver any goods or services, or any act of God or any other event beyond the Released Parties’ control, any dissatisfaction of any kind by a winner with any aspect of the Contest or any prize, liability for physical injury, death, or property damage which the entrants, guests or other third parties, their heirs, successors or assigns have, might have or could have suffered, by reason of or arising out of the entrant’s participation in the Contest and/or in connection with the acceptance and/or exercise by the entrant of prizes as awarded; and (iv) indemnify the Released Parties against any loss, damage or expense, including legal fees, that any of the Released Parties may suffer or incur as a result of any non-compliance by entrants with any of the Contest Rules or participation in the Contest and/or in connection with the acceptance and/or exercise by an entrant, use or misuse of a prize, or any travel related thereto.
  5. The Contest is subject to all applicable Federal, Provincial and local laws, as well as the rules adopted in view of said laws.
  6. QUEBEC RESIDENTS: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
