Representatives of the Accreditation Board, Qualifications Board, HEI’s and engineering regulators participated in a workshop on September 8 to discuss the training of all involved in accreditation. Engineers Canada staff provided an overview of current training approaches to initiate a gap analysis. In addition, three Accreditation Board members who have undertaken the training provided by ABET spoke about their experience, lessons learned, and what aspects of ABET training might be considered by the Accreditation Board. This was an early activity in the discovery phase of the training element of the AIP.
Engineers Canada is currently hiring an Accreditation Specialist whose primary role will be developing and implementing an ongoing training program.
