After consultations with HEIs and accreditation stakeholders, we’re pleased to announce that our new data management system will be called Tandem. With the name, we’ve also enlisted the creative services of a graphic designer to develop the system’s visual identity.
The Tandem logo design represents the ideal of collaboration between HEIs and Engineers Canada during the accreditation process. Intersecting lines convey the idea of dialogue and sharing. This is further emphasized by the design’s resemblance to two interlocking speech bubbles. The space created by the interlocking bubbles suggests the way that accreditation provides a structure that connects the two parties, and the use of both of Engineers Canada’s complementary brand colors is intended to convey an image of different perspectives being brought into harmony.
More generally, the design’s clean lines and generous white space provide a modern style that is not overwhelming or heavy. This simplicity conveys the intended benefits that the system will provide to the processes of accreditation and the Enrolment and Degrees Awarded Survey.
Users will begin to see the system identity as we roll out training for the Enrolment and Degrees Awarded Survey in April.
