Engineers Canada has been made aware of an error in the data it was sent that was included in this year’s National Membership Report and that was used to track progress towards the 30 by 30 goal.
The incorrect data stated that in 2017, British Columbia had reached 18.6 per cent of newly licensed engineers who are women. The correct number should be 15.2 per cent. This correction also means that nationally, 17.4 per cent of newly licensed engineers are women—not 18 per cent as was reported earlier.
Both the National Membership Report and the 30 by 30 webpage on the Engineers Canada website have been updated to reflect the correct data.
