Engineers Canada is excited to announce that it will be bringing DiscoverE’s Future City® Competition to Canada for 2017.
Future City® asks middle-school students to imagine, design, and build cities of the future. After four months of designing a virtual city (using SimCity), researching, designing and writing up their solution to a city-wide issue and building a scale model of their city, teams present their vision to a panel of judges. Winners compete against other students from across North America at the Future City® Competition Finals in Washington, DC.
The competition is a creative way to engage students in STEM subjects right in the classroom in ways that satisfy curriculum requirements at the same time as inspiring the next generation of engineers.
Stay tuned for more details as Engineers Canada brings this exciting engineering outreach program to Canada over the next months.
