Engineers Canada is pleased to welcome Nancy Hill, B.A.Sc., LL.B., FCAE, FEC, P. Eng., as President for the 2023–2024 term. In the coming year, Hill and the Engineers Canada Board will work with the engineering regulators in pursuit of our vision to advance Canadian engineering through national collaboration.
Hill is an engineer, lawyer, patent agent, and trademark agent. She is a co-founder of the firm Hill & Schumacher. For over 25 years, Hill has been managing intellectual property rights for clients worldwide, including many universities across Canada. Hill’s areas of focus are robotics, structural steel, healthcare, and green energy, and many of her clients have gone on to win prestigious awards for their innovations.
She has been an active volunteer throughout her career, contributing at PEO, universities, and other STEM organizations. She has a long history of volunteering at PEO where she served on a wide variety of committees, task forces, and Council. In 2008 she was invested as a Companion in the Order of Honour. In 2014, she was inducted as a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and in 2017, she was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women.
Engineers Canada also welcomes Michael Wrinch, PhD, FEC, P.Eng., ICD.D, to the role of President-Elect. He has established himself as a seasoned leader with over two decades of experience as the President of Hedgehog Technologies, an electro-mechanical engineering consulting firm.
