Following the release of Engineers Canada’s white paper on professional practice in software engineering, the Qualifications Board will be hosting a webinar for regulators on software engineering on November 23, 2016, at 12:30 p.m. ET.

The webinar will give regulators an understanding of how software engineering fits within the regulated scope of engineering practice by outlining how to distinguish software programming work from software engineering work that could be regulated. It will apply these principles to sample scenarios to demonstrate how, in practice, software engineering can be identified and regulated. The webinar will also discuss some of the challenges associated with regulating software engineering.

While the white paper is available in English and French, note that the webinar will be conducted in English only.

To register for the webinar, or for more information, contact Christine Bogie at Christine.Bogie@engineerscanada.ca or by phone at 613.232.2474 ext. 211.
