This $2.5 billion project with more than 250 team members logging more than 1.1 million hours of work, the largest of its kind in British Columbia’s history, doubled the capacity of the Port Mann bridge and widened the 37 kilometers of highway from Vancouver to Langley. It transformed this section of the Trans-Canada Highway 1 into an effective regional transportation corridor for transit and commercial vehicles, Metro Vancouver’s 2.2 million residents and the additional 1 million expected over the next 30 years. Average commuting time has been reduced by 50%.
