About the role 

The Associate, Member Services oversees a suite of insurance and financial programs, which promote professional and financial well-being. The Associate Member Services is a member of a small, dynamic team that strives to offer a positive experience to participants, partners, and other stakeholders through the delivery of high-quality services and products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for program oversight, data evaluation, reporting, and risk management for mid-to-large scale members and corporate programs.
  • Conducts research and actively identifies and monitors emerging benefits, products, and/or enhancement to products and services.  Provides guidance and recommendations on plan renewals, plan modernization and contract negotiation.
  • Actively participates in the drafting and development of requests for proposals, including the development of technical and financial criteria, conducts bid evaluations, and contract award recommendations.
  • Develops, evaluates, and distributes reporting to key stakeholders on program metrics, outcomes and their interpretation.
  • Provides guidance and acts as a key advisor on the external marketing and communication strategy for each program to enhance program awareness, increase retention and to ensure program sustainability.
  • Conducts marketing content reviews and collaborates with partners on marketing frequency, modality, and distribution efforts through digital and traditional media platforms.
  • Actively participates in the development of the internal marketing strategy and coordinates inter-departmental input.
  • Conducts website reviews of internal and external sites, proposes site enhancements, and collaborates with Partners and internal teams to modernize and enhance the end-user experience.
  • Evaluates and monitors website data analytics by program type: tracks and monitors site volume, click through rates, volume of returning users, etc.
  • Undertakes policy reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with terms of renewal and/or agreement, as required.
  • Initiates and coordinates funding requests on behalf of the organization, as required.
  • Advocates on behalf of members to ensure member concerns are addressed by the supplier/partner and resolved. 

Education and Experience Requirements

Education

  • Graduate from a recognized University, specializing in Marketing, Business or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • Minimum of (5) five years of experience with group benefits industry as a plan sponsor, and experience in corporate liability programs is an asset.
  • Experience in identifying, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating programs and services to grow and continuously improve products and services. Ability to build effective working relationships with interest holders.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence others.
  • Experience in providing superior customer service in a busy environment.

Key Competencies

  • Proficient in the use of Project Management principles, practices, and tools with a track record of delivering projects on time and on budget.
  • Experience working with a wide diversity of cultures within staff, volunteers, clients, and the community in general.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving and time management skills. 

Desirable

  • Desirable: Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office 365 Business, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.

Language

  • Proficiency in English is required. Proficiency in French is an asset.

About our working conditions

This is a full-time two-year term position that is based out of our Ottawa head office. 

There is a requirement to work a minimum of (3) three days/week in the office for the first (3) three months of employment and to occasionally work weekends and evenings. This position may require occasional travel within Canada.
