This year, the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) is celebrating 60 years in operation.

Since 1965, the CEAB has been integral to ensuring that graduates of accredited programs are academically qualified to begin the process to be licensed as professional engineers in Canada. The board’s efforts have helped prepare six generations of engineers with the knowledge and skills they need to become licensed professionals.

“This achievement is a result of the dedication of volunteers, educators, regulators, and partners across Canada – and the expertise of the many people who have contributed to the accreditation process over the decades. Their commitment has strengthened engineering education and upheld the trust the public places in our profession,” says Philip Rizcallah, CEO, Engineers Canada.

To celebrate this milestone, we compiled a video of reflections from CEAB volunteers and interest holders across the accreditation system.

“Education is changing rapidly. As we celebrate this anniversary and look to the future, we will continue to evolve and innovate to meet the changing needs of engineering education and regulation.” – says Ray Gosine, Chair, CEAB.

Congratulations to the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board on 60 incredible years of leadership, collaboration, and impact. Here’s to the next 60 years of shaping the future of engineering education in Canada.
