Disciplinary notices: A panel of Engineers and Geoscientists BC’s Discipline Committee has found that Laura Fidel committed several acts of professional misconduct in relation to her engineering work at the tailings storage facility at the Mount Polley Mine. In a separate discipline notice, Engineers and Geoscientists BC announced that Todd Martin had admitted to that aspects of his engineering work at the tailings storage facility at Mount Polley Mine were not consistent with prudent engineering practice and had agreed to pay a fine of $25,000 and an additional $69,000 toward the legal costs of Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
Face masks: A new study from University of Toronto engineering professor Kevin Golovin set out to determine if masks that offer a great degree of protection, such as N95 respirators, lead to additional discomfort for the wearer.
