Interprovincial barriers: The Ontario government announced in early September that it had signed 10 agreements with provinces and territories to remove barriers to let workers come to Ontario to find work in over 50 “in-demand” professions, including engineers, architects, and electricians. Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) has stated that in the coming days, they will be reviewing the new proposed regulations in order to understand the impacts on PEO’s licensing process.

APEGA Calgary office: In late August, the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) announced that its Council had decided to close the APEGA Calgary office location by September 15, 2025. Read more in the announcement from APEGA.
