Mount Polley: The Globe and Mail learned that the joint task force on the largest mine-waste disaster in Canadian history sent its recommendations to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada in April 2019. The joint task force recommended charges under the Fisheries Act, and it is now up to the Public Prosecution Service to decide whether to approve the charges by August 4, 2019—five years since the spill.
