The use of illegally obtained information by regulators. What should a regulator do when provided, illegally, with unsolicited information of registrant misconduct? This commonly occurs when information comes to light during a civil lawsuit. As that information is protected, without permission from the courts, using it to discipline an engineer is not legal.
