Disciplinary notice: A panel of the Discipline Committee of Engineers and Geoscientists BC has canceled the membership of Ahmed Raza Syed, and is ordering him to pay $32,582.98 toward legal costs after having found that the breached the Code of Ethics and Bylaws and demonstrated unprofessional conduct.

Small nuclear reactors: The federal government is investing $20 million in Oakville, Ontario’s Terrestrial Energy in a bid to help the firm bring small modular nuclear reactors to market, which will help Canada meet its target of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

Ontario infrastructure report: Construction industry stakeholders are puzzled by a new report from the Ontario government about the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on infrastructure, saying that the report’s recommendations do not reflect the input that the industry gave to the government in researching the report.
