Engineers Canada President Paul Amyotte, FEC, P.Eng., honoured two international recipients for their advancement of the engineering profession with Engineers Canada fellowships during the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying meetings in Seattle, Washington.
Basil Wakelin, BE, REGENG, FIPENZ, AMIMECHE, FEC, a member of the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ), has played a significant role in the International Engineering Alliance (IEA) for more than 15 years, advancing mobility for Canadian engineers and engineers around the world.
Patty Mamola, P.E., FEC, was the president of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) in 2013–2014. She was their first female president in the organization’s 94-year history. Ms. Mamola is a strong advocate of gender diversity in the engineering profession and her efforts as president also advanced Canada–US mobility of professional engineers.
