The Engineers Canada Awards recognize members of the engineering profession who have made a remarkable impact on the profession and the world.

Engineers Canada is proud to announce the recipients of the 2026 Engineers Canada Awards. This year’s recipients demonstrate how curiosity, leadership, and generosity of spirit can transform institutions, advance knowledge, and open doors for others. From classrooms and laboratories to communities, boardrooms, and the reach of space, their work turns possibility into progress. Together, they show how engineers lead with purpose — creating lasting impact, strengthening the profession, and inspiring confidence in a more inclusive, resilient future. 

The recipients were honoured on Thursday, May 21, at the annual Engineers Canada Awards Gala, this year held in Calgary, Alberta.

The 2026 Award recipients are: 

  • Isabelle Tremblay, FIC, ing. – Gold Medal Award
  • Nannette Ho-Covernton, FCAE, FEC, P.Eng. – Meritorious Service Award for Professional Service
  • Murray Gamble, FEC, P.Eng. – Meritorious Service Award for Community Service
  • Craig Simmons, PhD, FEC, P.Eng. – Medal for Distinction in Engineering Education
  • Marilyn Spink, FCAE, FEC, P.Eng., ICD.D – Award for the Support of Women in the Engineering Profession
  • Ruby Sinclair – Gold Medal Student Award 

Presented annually since 1972 to recognize outstanding Canadian engineers, teams of engineers, engineering projects and achievements, and engineering students, the Engineers Canada Awards highlight professional excellence, as well as the contributions of engineers to their community, and to the safety and well-being of Canadians. 

Our 2026 recipients have demonstrated exceptional dedication, innovation, and leadership, making significant impacts in engineering practice, education, research, and community service. Engineers Canada is honoured to recognize the contributions these individuals have made throughout their lives, and the lasting impact they will have for future generations.
