Educators and students participating in this year’s Future City Experience are invited to join one of two live, virtual panel discussions where they will get a chance to meet actual engineers and scientists who have helped us get to the Moon and beyond!
The events will allow students to ask questions to the panel of experts and get tips from the experts about things the students need to think about as they design their lunar cities. The event is also an opportunity for students to learn more about engineering and how they can explore a career in STEM.
The live Q&A takes place in English on February 2, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. ET to 1:30 p.m. ET and will be streamed on YouTube. Panellists include:
- Moderator: Dr. Marc A. Rosen, Professor at Ontario Tech University, where he was founding Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.
- Marla Haring, a Systems Engineer at MDA, an international space mission partner in Brampton, ON.
- Dr. Cassandra Marion, Science Advisor for the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum.
- Matthew Bamsey, a senior engineer in space exploration strategic planning at the Canadian Space Agency.
A French Q&A will take place with Francophone experts on February 9, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. ET to 1:30 p.m. ET and will also be streamed on YouTube. Panellists for the French Q&A include:
- Moderator: Margot Allain Bélanger, Outreach Coordinator with the engineering faculty at the Université de Moncton.
