Engineers Canada is recognizing the exceptional work and achievement of six outstanding members of the engineering profession. These remarkable individuals will be recognized Thursday, May 23, at the annual Engineers Canada Awards Gala, taking place in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Our 2024 Engineers Canada recipients are championing innovation, equity, diversity, and inclusion in engineering, and leading impactful projects and research. Through entrepreneurship, engineering education, research, community involvement, and the advancement of women in engineering, these recipients are igniting change for a better world. They exemplify the outstanding contributions engineers are making at all stages of their careers that have a lasting impact on our society.
Over the coming weeks, we will be highlighting their achievements, and how they are building a better world for everyone. With a combination of technical prowess, creativity, and collaboration, they are improving lives and protecting our planet. Engineers work at the forefront of change, transforming theoretical ideas into tangible realities that propel society forward. The work of these six award recipients is a testament to the power of human ingenuity and perseverance in addressing the most pressing concerns of our time.

- Karen Webb, MBA, P.Eng., ICD.D - Meritorious Service Award for Community Service
- Gabriel Potvin, PhD, P.Eng. - Medal for Distinction in Engineering Education
- Laleh Behjat, PhD, FCAE, FCSSE, P.Eng. - Award for the Support of Women in the Engineering Profession
- Cassandra Pitchford, RHFAC Professional - Gold Medal Student Award
