Fourth-year University of Toronto industrial engineering student Hanna Janossy has held leadership positions in several organizations, including the Bioengineering Association, Industrial Engineering Mentorship Group and Engineers Without Borders. She worked on the Neu Walk Project, researching ways of enabling paraplegics to walk again, and found a way to optimize the printing of tiny electrode arrays that are implanted into the spinal cord so the brain’s electrical signal can jump over the problem area and directly reach the muscles.
