The Canadian Engineering Qualifications Board (CEQB) is a standing committee reporting to the Engineers Canada Board. The CEQB develops national guidelines, Engineers Canada papers, and examination syllabi to support the assessment of engineering qualifications and to promote excellence in the practice and regulation of the profession. This work serves and responds to the needs of Canada’s engineering regulators.

Across its work, the CEQB is committed to upholding the purpose and values of Engineers Canada, including the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion. This aligns with Engineers Canada’s Board’s official commitment to the Federal Government’s 50-30 Challenge. The CEQB is balanced in terms of gender, and it is comprised of individuals from diverse life experiences, including those with industry and academic backgrounds, those who are working and retired, and those who have been trained as engineers in Canada and abroad. In both policy and practice, the CEQB works to ensure it’s a diverse and inclusive environment, positioned to best protect and serve the public interest.

The CEQB’s current work includes new guidelines on Fitness to practice and on the Use of new technologies in engineering, as well as an Engineers Canada paper on emerging disciplines.
