Engineers Canada is inviting engineers, employers, regulators, educators, students, and other interest holders across the engineering community to provide input into the development of a national survey of engineering culture.

In engineering workplaces, engineering culture affects workplace experiences, professional judgment, and ultimately the engineering profession's ability to protect the public. Engineers Canada is developing a national survey of engineering culture to better understand and measure the conditions that support strong engineering practice and help identify where the profession is succeeding, where challenges exist, and where opportunities for improvement may lie.

The input form takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete and will remain open until August 27, 2026.

Complete the input form here.

Why your input matters

In developing the survey, Engineers Canada wants to ensure the survey asks the right questions. Engineers Canada welcomes your input, including about:

  • Whether the key topic areas are the right ones to measure
  • Any important gaps or missing themes
  • Areas that should be prioritized given the length of the survey (~10 minutes)
  • Considerations that would help make the results more meaningful and actionable

Your input will help shape the final survey by ensuring it focuses on the topics that matter most to the engineering profession and produces meaningful, actionable results.

About this work

The development of a national survey of engineering culture is part of Engineers Canada’s ongoing strategic direction to realize a welcoming and inclusive engineering profession.

Over the past decade, Engineers Canada’s work has evolved to increasing the understanding of the broader conditions that shape engineers’ experiences in the profession. The national survey of engineering culture will complement existing measures by providing new insights into engineering culture and the factors that help all engineers thrive.

Share your perspectives

Your feedback will help ensure that the national survey of engineering culture reflects the issues that matter most to the engineering profession.

Please complete the input form by August 27, 2026, and you are encouraged to share this opportunity with colleagues, employers, regulators, educators, engineering students, and others whose perspectives would contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of engineering culture.
