Are you interested in making a mark on the engineering profession nation-wide? The Canadian Engineering Qualifications Board (CEQB) is seeking two engineers from industry for their new Foresight Committee. The committee is dedicated to identifying key issues that will impact engineering regulation in the next 5 to 10 years, providing essential foresight to guide the CEQB’s work.  

As a member, you will play an important role in generating thought pieces, advising on workshops, and contributing to discussions that shape the future of the profession and its regulation. The committee is seeking to build a diverse group who can bring a range of insights and perspectives to the table. The estimated time commitment is 10-16 hours over the course of the one- year term. 

The CEQB develops national guidelines, Engineers Canada papers, and examination syllabi that serve the needs of regulators, engineering licence holders, and applicants for licensure. Recent work has focused on a wide variety of topics pertaining to engineering practice and admissions, including best practices for Indigenous consultation and engagement, fitness to practice issues, the duty to report, the academic assessment of international engineering applicants, and the national code of ethics.   

Membership on the Foresight Committee represents a unique opportunity to bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the table at the national level and work closely with a dynamic group of engineering leaders.
