National Engineering Month (NEM) is Canada’s largest celebration of engineering. A campaign held every March, NEM celebrates the heart and soul of engineers—their passion, commitment, and action towards making the world a better place. The celebration is guided by the theme, “Engineers Open Doors” – to new possibilities and new futures. They drive innovation and progress, taking what’s come before them and making it better. Engineers bring people together and they inspire.
The month is also a time to spark curiosity in K-12 students, helping them see how engineering shapes the world around them and open doors to future careers.

Join the NEM kick off – Sharing your story to inspire kids to explore engineering
Register for the kick-off event – a webinar, on March 3, designed to help you inspire the next generation. In this session, you’ll learn how to share your own engineering journey in ways that connect with kids and spark their curiosity about the “E” in STEM. Topics include what works when engaging with youth, outreach tips, leveraging volunteer programs within your organization and more.
Join the events
Across Canada, the engineering community is hosting dozens of in-person and virtual events to showcase the engineering profession and the important role it plays in society, with activities available for all ages! Some events introduce children and youth to the world of engineering with fun engineering activities, while others discuss the important issues facing the engineering profession today and in the future.
From informative and interesting events for engineering students, EITs, and professional engineers to fun and inspiring activities that will spark an interest in the next generation of engineers, National Engineering Month has a lot to offer.
