The Calgary West LRT Line project is an extension of the existing Calgary C-Train system and is recognized as being one of North America’s most successful light rail transit systems in terms of ridership and cost-effectiveness. The extension was the largest infrastructure project ever initiated by the City of Calgary, with approximately 100 professional engineers involved. The new LRT service has removed thousands of cars from the roads, created new bike paths, pedestrian bridges and regional pathways.
