National Engineering Month is an annual celebration each March of the heart and soul of engineers—their passion, commitment, and action toward making the world a better place.

Engineers open doors to new possibilities and new futures. They drive innovation and progress, taking what’s come before them and making it better. Engineers bring people together and they inspire.

In this spirit, National Engineering Month 2025 will feature a new theme: Engineers Open Doors. In March, Engineers Canada, in partnership with Engineering Deans Canada, are encouraging higher education institutions, engineering companies, and industry organizations to host events that will demonstrate how engineers are making a difference across the country.

All events welcome

National Engineering Month events can take the form of engineering tours or doors open events, STEM workshops or STEM fairs, guest speakers or panel discussions, engineering challenges, hands-on exhibits, or events that highlight local engineering projects.

“Events can be big or small, in-person or virtual,” explains Kim Bouffard, Manager, Belonging and Engagement at Engineers Canada. “We welcome all contributions to showcase the engineering profession during National Engineering Month.

“Events of any kind will demonstrate the vital contributions that engineers make to society, showcase the diverse career opportunities in the field, and inspire the next generation of engineers.”

Hosting a National Engineering Month event presents an opportunity for your engineering organization to amplify your impact and reach, while contributing to the future of the profession. Hosting an event can expand your network, connecting you with professionals, educators, and students across Canada. Your event will be featured on the National Engineering Month event calendar, increasing your reach.

National Engineering Month events can also showcase your organization’s leadership and commitment to engineering innovation, education, and community engagement. You can play a role in fostering curiosity and interest in engineering careers, empowering youth to see engineering as a tool for tackling global challenges.

Engineers Canada will feature National Engineering Month events across the country on the national calendar, and will provide event organizers with a toolkit with customizable promotional materials and other resources.
