Over one hundred events took place during National Engineering Month at higher education institutions, engineering companies, and industry organizations across Canada. From doors open events to design competitions, from hands-on activities to exhibitions and workshops, the engineering profession invited you in to discover the future that engineers are building. Water Purification: A Portable Solution

This event aims to raise awareness about water purification and the importance of access to safe drinking water in Canada and disaster-affected regions. Our team has developed a portable water purification system—compact enough to fit in a 1×1 foot cube—designed to provide safe drinking water for a family of four (two adults + two children) using surface water. The event will feature esteemed guest speakers, including experts in water purification systems, public health, and Indigenous advocacy.

Design Day Events

Design Day is a free, public event bringing together industry professionals, students, clients and professors. It takes place twice a year, in fall and in winter.

All students, undergraduate and graduate, at the Faculty of Engineering are invited to participate and showcase their design projects, whether physical prototypes, design plans, software apps or websites. Entries can originate from course work, research or a personal project from individual students or from teams. Prizes are awarded to winners in each category.
