C’est par le biais de journées portes ouvertes, de concours de conception, d’activités pratiques, d’expositions et d’ateliers que la profession d’ingénieur vous invite à entrer dans son univers. Water for the World workshops
The Water for the World workshops are presented every year around the GTA and bring together, Professional Engineers, EIT's, Engineering University students and middle and high school students to explore the issues around global clean water access. Lakehead University Highschool Outreach Design Competition
Highschool students will be tasked with a design aspect to build an airplane for a medical aviation company that needs to carry a load a certain distance.
The planes built will have fit dimensions and must be able to fly a load of coins as far as possible which will be done from a balcony in our university.

Design Day Events
Design Day is a free, public event bringing together industry professionals, students, clients and professors. It takes place twice a year, in fall and in winter.
All students, undergraduate and graduate, at the Faculty of Engineering are invited to participate and showcase their design projects, whether physical prototypes, design plans, software apps or websites. Entries can originate from course work, research or a personal project from individual students or from teams. Prizes are awarded to winners in each category.

Water Purification: A Portable Solution
This event aims to raise awareness about water purification and the importance of access to safe drinking water in Canada and disaster-affected regions. Our team has developed a portable water purification system—compact enough to fit in a 1×1 foot cube—designed to provide safe drinking water for a family of four (two adults + two children) using surface water. The event will feature esteemed guest speakers, including experts in water purification systems, public health, and Indigenous advocacy.

The Use of AI, Information Systems and Robotics in Tackling Environmental Challenges
This session will consist of a panel discussing the test cases for the use of AI, information systems and robotics in tackling environmental challenges. This will be an opportunity for students to contribute to the discussion using their knowledge on the topics. Key ecological issues and the steps towards a more sustainable future will be addressed.
