The Biomedical Engineer’s Ethical Dilemma Lab

The Biomedical Engineer’s Ethical Dilemma Lab is an interactive, graduate-focused workshop that examines real ethical decision-making challenges faced by biomedical engineers working at the intersection of research, healthcare, and technology.

Rather than abstract ethics lectures, participants will work through realistic engineering case studies involving biomedical devices, diagnostics, and data-driven health technologies. Each case will require attendees to weigh technical performance, patient impact, uncertainty, regulatory constraints, and professional responsibility.

Safely Land the Package 2026 National Engineering and Geoscience Month Challenge

Be Creative and Win an APEGNB stem kit!
(Value $150)

Engineers and geoscientists play an important role in protecting the public. During natural disasters, it isn’t always possible for first responders to reach people by road. Instead, supplies like food, water, and medicine may need to be dropped from the air. Engineers design delivery systems to make sure these packages land safely without being damaged. To do this, engineers must think about forces like gravity, wind, air resistance, and drag.
